Question 6 - 13.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions from 6 to 13.

Wildlife conservation is a crucial endeavor that aims to protect animal species and their habitats. This effort is essential for maintaining biodiversity and ensuring the health of our ecosystems. Human activities such as deforestation, pollution, and climate change are some of the primary threats to wildlife. Conservation initiatives strive to mitigate these impacts through various strategies.

One significant aspect of wildlife conservation is the establishment of protected areas. National parks, wildlife reserves, and marine protected areas are created to provide safe havens for endangered species. These areas not only protect wildlife but also offer opportunities for scientific research and eco-tourism, which can benefit local economies.

Another important approach is the reintroduction of species into their natural habitats. This method has been successful in bringing several species back from the brink of extinction. Conservationists carefully monitor and support these reintroduced populations to ensure their survival.

Education and awareness campaigns play a pivotal role in wildlife conservation as well. By educating the public about the importance of biodiversity and the threats facing wildlife, these campaigns foster a sense of responsibility and encourage community involvement in conservation efforts.

Technological advancements are also aiding conservation efforts. Innovations such as satellite tracking, DNA analysis, and drone surveillance help researchers gather critical data and monitor wildlife populations more effectively. These tools enable more informed decision-making and efficient conservation strategies.

Promoting sustainable practices, reducing human-wildlife conflicts, and enforcing antipoaching laws are also integral components of wildlife conservation. These measures contribute to creating a harmonious balance between human activities and the natural world.

Phone scams involved in AI-generated voice have been reported in the USA and some European nations. [I] Scammers, equipped with advanced knowledge and skills, collected some data and recorded some victims' voices before they faked the victims' voices to borrow some money from their friends and relatives. [II] In these situations, some parents received a phone call from an unknown number and heard their child's voice crying, "I've been kidnapped. Help me!" while the child was actually safe at school or a friend's house. [III] Consequently, the parents were terrified and transferred large sums of money to the scammers. [IV]

Deepfake, a combination of "deep learning" and "fake," is a sort of technology that can replicate photos and voices of a person to create convincing videos of individuals saying things they never did. Giải thích câu 1

✅ Đáp án: C

🔎 Lí do:

✔️ Xác định câu mở đầu:

  • d (có trong A, B): “This swift urbanization...” → Câu này dùng “This” để chỉ một hiện tượng đã được nhắc trước đó, nên không thể mở đầu.
  • b (có trong C, D): “Over the past decade, Riverton has experienced an extraordinary transformation...” → Đây là câu giới thiệu tổng quát về sự thay đổi của Riverton, rất hợp để mở đầu.

⇒ Chọn b làm câu mở đầu hợp lý nhất → Giữ lại C và D, loại A, B.

✔️ So sánh tiếp theo:

  • C: b – d Riverton has experienced an extraordinary transformation...” → sau đó “This swift urbanization has acted as a catalyst for economic expansion... → Hợp lý: câu b nêu sự chuyển mình mạnh mẽ, câu d tiếp tục nói về quá trình đô thị hóa đó và hệ quả kinh tế của nó.
  • D: b – c extraordinary transformation...” → rồi sang ngay “Numerous outdated residential structures have been supplanted...

⇒ Thứ tự đúng là: b – d – e – c – a.

1.

a. Despite the remarkable developments, the public transportation infrastructure remains inadequate, creating significant challenges for the daily commutes faced by numerous residents. b.
